Soldier for Life - Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) exists to help soldiers and their families make a smooth transition from military to civilian life. We provide the following courses:

  • Pre-separation Counseling
  • Individual Counseling
  • Initial Counseling (IC)
  • Transition Overview (TO)
  • MOS Crosswalk (MOS)
  • Personal Financial Planning for Transition
  • Department of Labor Employment Workshop (DOLEW)
  • Veterans Affairs Briefings (VA 1&2)
  • Capstone

Throughout these courses, soldiers and their families will learn the fundamentals of resumes, budgets, eBenefits, and MyHealthVet, along with other resources like O*NET and VMET.

 

Delivery Options

SFL-TAP offers flexible delivery styles which include:

  • Meet one-on-one with a career and financial counselor in the Anderson Readiness Center
  • Attend 5 day classes at JBLM
  • Attend 5 day classes at demobilization site
  • Attend classes through the SFL-TAP Virtual Center
  • Attend classes through the online classroom (JKO)
  • Telephone and/or email assistance.
