Service Member and Family Support Services

About Us

We have two teams working together to help with your search for employment. Here is some more information about each of them. We are a ESGR & Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program project with a special mission: To thank you for your service by helping you find your perfect career. Our technology, community, and passion to serve America's bravest drives us to be the best Reserve Component job site. Your opportunity is NOW.

Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR)

ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and Service members.

ESGR informs and educates service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA. If you have questions regarding your rights with your civilian employer please contact Dianne Nordhaus, the Ombudsman Director.

Employment and Education Counselors (EEC)

Oregon National Guard Employment and Education Counselors provide face to face educational and employment services by offering career support, career assessment, resume writing, interview skills and coaching, referrals, and identifying employment barriers. The program also assists in development and implementation of outreach services for personnel returning from full time military service, re-entering the civilian community as well as networking with local government and employers to better facilitate the transition process. Counselors interface directly with employers and Service Members to ensure all parties achieve their employment and educational goals. These services are available to all Service Members, Veterans and their families.
